We’re extremely fortunate, indeed, to have Valdés who performed solo last season – return to the Jazz Series – and “host” the Dr. Carlos Perez-Mesa Memorial Concert for a fourth time. The five-time GRAMMY® winner AND three-time Latin GRAMMY® winner arrives on this occasion in grand – pun intended – style. Valdés is in the midst of a world tour and will lead Irakere, the internationally famed 10-piece horn-percussion-and vocal-laden ensemble he co-founded more than four decades ago.
