Rather than trying to adhere to today’s constantly changing pop culture climate, the Dan White Sextet (dw6) strives to define its own path: to create genuine, original music that is inspired by the voices of the past and the soundtrack of the present; the music for life in the next ten minutes as well as in ten years.

What originated as a JAG-commissioned educational project through the Jazz in Schools program, “Your Song” began with a two-week roadtrip in which the founding members of dw6 (Dan White, Chris Ott & Jon Lampley) travelled across the country gathering the stories of musicians whose careers have been spent in the tradition of the blues. From Chicago to Nashville, Memphis to New Orleans, Jackson, St. Louis, Kansas City, and spots in-between, this premiere performance is a culmination of those stories and the music inspired and created along the way....
