Carsten Dahl's far-reaching talent seems to be unlimited. He expresses himself freely in the jazz tradition, and at the same time he plays as an improvising composer in an original and narrative way like very few.
The solo piano occupies a large place in Carsten Dahl's career, and it is also for two solo records that he has received the DMA Jazz Award for best record of the year in 2004 and 2011. Here he draws inspiration from the classical pianist Glenn Gould and jazz pianists such as Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans and Bud Powell. He cultivates improvisation to the extreme, which also draws on a large and broad knowledge of the traditions of classical music....

Til denne unikke og intime soloklaverkoncert kommer publikum med på en spændende rejse ind i Carstens Dahls kreative sind og kunstnerunivers. Carsten Dahls vidtrækkende talent lader til at være ubegrænset. Han udtrykker sig frit i jazztraditionen, og samtidig spiller han som en improviserende komponist på en original og narrativ måde som ganske få.
Soloklaveret fylder meget i Carsten Dahls karriere, og det er også for to soloplader, han har fået DMA Jazzprisen for årets bedste plade i 2004 og 2011. Her henter han både inspiration hos eksempelvis den klassiske pianist Glenn Gould eller jazzpianister som Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans og Bud Powell. Han dyrker improvisationen i yderste konsekvens, som også trækker på et stort og bredt kendskab til den klassiske musiks traditioner.
