Arild Andersen is one of the most remarkable musicians of the North. His work with Norwegians such as Jan Garbarek, Jon Christensen and Terje Rypdal on ECM, as well as with our own Carsten Dahl, has greatly influenced the sound that we today identify as “Nordic”. His bass tone is unmistakable; it’s both earthly and delicately singing timbre resonates in even the most frozen of souls. On these three nights, he presents his fantastic trio, consisting of two of Europe's most unique musicians: The Scotsman Tommy Smith, whose sublime and lively playing is not to be found anywhere else in Europe, and the Italian resident of Norway Paolo Vinaccia, who generously shares his energy and engaging creativity.
