John Blake Jr. (US), his son Johnathan Blake (US), along with Anders Koppel (DK) and Benjamin Koppel (DK) will perform two compositions, featuring Ars Nova Copenhagen, one of Europe’s finest choir ensembles.
John Blake Jr. is considered a pioneer in the world of jazz violinists, while Johnathan Blake is one of America’s best jazz drummers. The compositions create an exciting and unique mixture, combining American jazz music and Danish modernist choral music.
The lyrical content addresses the history of both countries. The topics are based on American spirituals and letters from nineteenth century Danish soldiers.
