Double Trios at Jazzhus Montmartre

Montmartre starts the Jazz Festival with a tribute to the Danish jazz scene. An evening where you can meet excerpts from "The Great American Songbook", perhaps Scandinavian folk tunes or new compositions - anything can happen. The first section begins with one of the most legendary "marriages" in Danish jazz: Alex Riel and Bo Stief. After the break, the piano is taken over by Jacob Christoffersen who, in addition to several award-winning releases in own name, is known for the long-standing and highly aclaimed collaboration with the singer Sinne Eeg. With him on stage, he has bassist Anders "AC" Christensen, who moves fluently between rock names like The Raveonettes and international jazz legends such as Paul Motian and Tomasz Stańko. The Swedish drummer Cornelia Nilsson completes the trio. Already a strong and established name on the Danish and Swedish music scene, but also known for international collaborations with names like Kenny Barron, Aaron Parks and Seamus Blake.

Montmartre genåbner og indleder Jazzfestivalen med en hyldest til den danske jazzscene. En aften, hvor du kan møde uddrag fra ”The Great American Songbook”, måske skandinavisk folketone eller ny kompositionsmusik – alt kan ske. To klavertrioer sammensat specielt til denne aften, hvor historie og tradition sættes i morgendagens perspektiv. Første afdeling indledes af et de mest legendariske ”ægteskaber” i dansk jazz: Alex Riel og Bo Stief. Sammen og hver for sig, har de dannet rytmisk og harmonisk fundament for de største internationale musikere i Montmartre som Ben Webster, Dexter Gordon, men også en endeløs række af koryfæer fra den danske musikscene. Med sig på scenen har de et af dem, pianisten og komponisten Henrik Gunde, som udover at være fast engageret i DRs big band er en de mest efterspurgte pianister på den danske jazzscene.

Efter pausen overlades klaveret til Jacob Christoffersen som udover en række prisvindende udgivelser i eget navn, er kendt for det mangeårigt og højtskattede samarbejde med sangerinden Sinne Eeg. Med sig på scenen har han bassisten Anders ”AC” Christensen, som bevæger sig flydende mellem rocknavne som The Raveonettes og samtidigt har en stor international karriere med udgivelser med koryfæer som Paul Motian og Tomasz Stańko. Den fremadstormende svenske trommeslager Cornelia Nilsson fuldender trioen. Allerede et stærkt og etableret navn på den danske og svenske musikscene, som også har markeret sig internationalt i samarbejder med bl.a. Kenny Barron, Aaron Parks og Seamus Blake.
