Hess has been living in New York for some years and now he is finally back in Copenhagen again.
He is perhaps best known for his ongoing collaborative project "Hess Is More". Other bands and collaborations include “Hess / AC / Hess Spacelab”, “3 x Hess”, "Small White Man", “2s and 4s”, “Hess / Vibskov Trommefredag” and “SH101 Nightmare”.
in collaboraton with artist Tal R he has released a duo drum LP with Kresten Osgood: Adieu Interessant
Mikkel Hess is also active as composer and producer of music for film, theatre and dance. Later works include music for the ballet “Det forsømte forår” premiering at The Royal Theater in Denmark in 2011 and music for the feature film “When Animals Dream” premiering at Cannes Film Festival 2014....

20-21pm Franciszek Pospieszalski Sextet

One of the most talented bassists currently living in Denmark is Franciszek Pospieszalski. His writing is unique and he improvises on the double bass with great energy and sophistication. his sextet is basically an allstar band of resident Polish artists.

21-23pm SPACELAB

The second night of the Mikkel Hess November residency is highlighted by this classic formation. This trio has been working for well over 20 years playing with pretty much everybody in Denmark. when Hess plays organ they are called SPACELAB. They have released 2 great albums and are loved by millions. come early, it will be sold out

23pm Jonannes Nästesjö/ Lotte Anker/ Anders Vestergaard,

Johannes Nästesjö is a Swedish bass improvisor. he has played mandagsklubben several times before and plays with great authority and imagination. Lotte Anker is one of the most consistently great voices on saxophone in the country and Vestergaard is a brilliant drummer. what´s not to love about this trio?

24pm Guttormsen/Østergaard/Jonsson

This is an interesting trio indeed. Østergaad-Nielsen has a long history of collaborating with trumpet players, leading the Østergaard Art Quartet with Per Jørgensen and Kasper Tranberg. Here she plays with Håkon Guttormsen, another great voice on the trumpet and the trio is completed by with the enigmatic Hannes Jonsson on bass.

this is an exiting trio lead by italian Bassist Luca Curio with the fantastic Macats on piano and the highly original Karch on the drums. its never too late!
