WELCOMING THADDEUS SLEDGE: Our originally scheduled lead male vocalist, Desmond Scaife Jr., has become unable to return to Denmark as scheduled, due to an unexpected technical delay on his work visa. Instead, another incredible American vocalist, THADDEUS SLEDGE, will be our featured lead male vocalist on the entire Jazz Christmas run. As the name indicates, Thad is of the ultra-talented Sledge family - of planetary perpetual Sister Sledge/We Are Are Family fame. His mother Joni was one of the founding members and he is himself an integral part of the group today. We are very excited to have him appear for us in Denmark for the first time.

The collective is led by pianist Niels Lan Doky, whom the international press has hailed as “the best pianist of his generation” and “one of the most important pianists that European jazz has given us in the last 45 years”.

For fem år siden lukkede den nu legendariske københavnske The Standard Jazz Club* og ændrede navn til Niels Lan Doky International Jazz Collective og blev i stedet til en omrejsende enhed, som producerer jazzkoncerter og begivenheder på mange forskellige prominente venues over hele landet, bl.a. Louisiana, Nationalmuseet, Sølyst, Hotel d’Angleterre, Tivoli Glassalen, Musikhuset Aarhus, Kronborg, m.m.
