The now 76-year-old Bergonzi stands on the shoulders of these three style creators. He started his career in 1968 playing with drumming icon Roy Haynes. Since then, it has turned into world tours with pianist Dave Brubeck and a long series of recordings for Blue Note Records. Since 1990, Bergonzi has been a professor at the New England Conservatory, which is considered one of the finest conservatories in the United States.
