Magnus Hjorths trio er godt i gang med at etablere sig som én af de stærkeste insitutioner i nyere dansk jazz. Det skyldes først og fremmest, at de på overlegen vis formår at kombinere musikalsk opfindsomhed med et bundsolidt groove og en fornemmelse for traditionen, der blandt andet har manifesteret sig i en hel plade med Gershwin sange – med strygerarrangementer. Magnus Hjorth, Lasse Mørck og Snorre Kirk demonstrerer til perfektion det potentiale, en rigtig velsammenspillet trio kan have, og det bliver måske allerklarest i Montmartres intime rammer.
