Martin Fabricius TRIO was established in 2007 by Danish vibraphone player and film music composer Martin Fabricius. The music, which is written by Martin Fabricius with financial support from the Danish Art Council, has a distinct nordic tone with strong melodies and has, by more than one critic, been attributed healing powers.

The trio recorded their first CD, When Sharks Bite, in 2008 which JazzNyt hailed as one of the best 10 Danish jazz CDs to come out that year. Martin Fabricius studied the vibraphone with multi grammy award winner Gary Burton at Berklee College of music. With the agility of the human voice as his greatest inspiration, Martin has developed his own unique playing style, turning the vibraphone into a beautiful expressive and dynamic instrument. Martin has recently started a collaboration with pianist Søren Bebe and is beside that a sought-after teacher and clinician.

Martin Fabricius TRIO also counts double bassist Christian Hougaard Nielsen. Christian is a child protege of Niels Henning Ørsted Petersen. Christian started his training with NHØP at age 13 and continued his studies with him as he, as an young adult, made it through the conservatory's soloist class. Christian has played with Herlin Riley Jr., Michael Brecker, Phil Woods, Ed Thigpen and Alex Riel among others.

The original trio had Jeppe Wessberg Christensen on drums and it is his tasty and refined playing that can be heard on when Sharks Bite. Since 2011 Jacob Hatholt has taken his seat and shown
a new direction for the trio with his groovy and expressive style. Jacob Hatholt is one of the most talented young drummers to come out of the danish jazz-scene in resent years and has played and recorded with Randy Brecker, Francesco Carli and many others.
