The young Catalan trombonist and singer Rita Payés is an exceptional musician who enchants her audience with her wonderful voice, beautiful trombone playing and charismatic presence.

Payés was born into a family full of musicians. Therefore, it was only natural for her to start studying music at an early age, first the piano and later the trombone, which ended up becoming her main instrument.

At the age of just 16, she released her first album "Joan Chamorro presents Rita Payés" together with Chamorro and among others. the American jazz tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton and the now deceased Spanish jazz trumpeter Toni Belenguer. Since then, Payés career has continued far beyond the borders of Catalonia. She has performed on some of the most important stages and jazz festivals in Europe....

Lis Wessberg er blandt de førende basunister i Danmark og er især kendt for sin smukke tone og unikke følelse på instrumentet. Hun har spillet med en lang række danske topkunstnere inden for jazz og popmusik, herunder Marilyn Mazur, Steen Rasmussen, Lennart Ginman, Fredrik Lundin, Jan Kaspersen, Claus Høxbroe, DR Bigband, Hanne Boel og mange andre.

For Wessberg er en god melodi og en fyldig lyd de to vigtigste elementer i hendes optræden og kompositioner. Hendes basunspil ligner en sangers stemme, der er fyldt med varme, følelse og stor intensitet. Hendes kompositioner er sjælfulde og tankevækkende, mens hendes arrangementer har en næsten drømmende kvalitet. Publikum kan se frem til at opleve Wessberg slippe sine smukke og dybe toner løs, når hun lægger vejen forbi Krudttønden på Østerbro.

Payés er født ind i en familie fuld af musikere. Derfor var det også en selvfølge, at hun i en tidlig alder valgte at studere først klaver og senere trombone, som endte med at blive hendes hovedinstrument.

I en alder af blot 16 år udgav hun sammen med Chamorro sit første album “Joan Chamorro presents Rita Payés” med blandt andre den amerikanske jazztenorsaxofonist Scott Hamilton og den nu afdøde spanske jazztrompetist Toni Belenguer. Siden da er Payés karriere fortsat langt ud over Cataloniens grænser. Hun har optrådt på nogle af de vigtigste scener og jazzfestivaler i Europa.
