Vital, lyrical and extrovert music shaped by both the Danish melodic tone and the spiritual part of jazz, which Ole Matthiessen grew up with in the 1960s. The concert presents music from his latest international critically acclaimed CD "Flashbacks & Dedications" with modal music, with detours to previous CDs of ballads, blues and standards. Matthiessen has written strong simple singable melodies and durable chord diagrams as a basis for strong solo play - not least when the players in the strong quintet is former Webster winners as Bolberg, Rockwell, Lundgaard and Streenberg.
