guitarAbout
We are hosting four special nights where we celebrate the 50th birthday of the great Danish guitarist, Jacob Fischer. For this edition you can experience a line-up that spans across three different generations. One of the beautiful features of jazz is the way in which the music is interpreted from generation to generation, learned by ear and played on stage. Tenor sax champion, Jesper Thilo, just turned 75 and plays better than ever, especially together with the two younger forces joining him on stage. Jesper is one of the very few soloists of international calibre that Denmark has fostered. Jacob Fischer is a generation younger than Jesper but certainly a famous face on the Danish jazz scene. For many years he has been one of the most diligent musicians in Denmark, and many have heard him in Svend Asmussen’s quartet that he played with for over 15 years as well as the many concerts with Finn Ziegler and Hugo Rasmussen. Today he is in the mist of a successful international career with tours in both the US and Japan with top American musicians such as Scott Hamilton, Warren Vaché and Harry Allen. Jacob and Jesper will perform together with one of the great talents on the Danish jazz scene in the shape of bass player, Anders Fjeldsted. It will be a night of three generations joining together on stage, picking the best music from their repertoire, telling their stories and experiences in the world of music from the perspectives of different generations....
