We are hosting four special nights where we celebrate the 50th birthday of the great Danish guitarist, Jacob Fischer. For this edition you can experience Jacob Fischer Trio feat. Francesco Cali. This constellation has been Jacob Fischer’s regular group since 2011 when they released their album, “Django”, in 2011. Accordion and acoustic guitar is an invigorating and remarkable combination. The excitement at the venues they have played has been touching and overwhelming. Jacob Fischer has composed a string of new songs for the group inspired by both gypsy jazz and Brazilian choro. There is also a touch of Italian soundtrack music and a few surprising Danish standards in the repertoire such as “Huset på Christianshavn”. Among the group we can look forward to hearing Andreas Møllerhøj who is a breath of fresh air with his acoustic bass together with Andreas Svendsen, who has developed extraordinary drumming skills. With the addition of Francesco Cali, the music will get a charming southern touch, which also can be heard on the aforementioned highly rated album, “Django”....

I anledningen af Jacob Fischers 50 års fødselsdag fejrer vi det med fire forskellige koncerter i huset. Denne aften kan man opleve Jacob Fischer trio feat. Francesco Cali. Dette orkester har været Jacob Fischers faste gruppe og har været et populært indslag på jazzscenen siden de indspillede deres første CD "Django" i 2011. Akkordeon og akustisk guitar er en usædvanlig velklingende og indsmigrende kombination, som lader til at ramme publikum lige i hjertet - begejstringen ude på spillestederne har været både rørende og overvældende. Jacob Fischer har komponeret en stribe nye numre til gruppen, der er inspireret af både sigøjner jazz og af brasiliansk choro. Der er også afstikkere til italiensk filmmusik og et par overraskende danske standarder som "Huset på Christianshavn". Unge Andreas Møllerhøj er et frisk pust med sit akustiske, bundsolide og bundmusikalske basspil, der sammen med Andreas Svendsens medlevende spil giver en ideel platform til at udforske alle jazzens farver. Med tilføjelsen af den sicilianske akkordeon mester Francesco Cali får musikken et charmerende sydlandsk touch - "Jazz med middelhavs stemning" - som det kan høres på deres anmelderroste album "Django".
