MARIO BAKUNA BAND: BRAZILIAN LANDSCAPES at Jazzhus Montmartre

It's always great to hear authentic Brazilian music, and here is your chance! Guitarist and singer Mario Bakuna and his close trio take on the classic Brazilian compositions by Djavan, Joao Bosco, Gilberto Gil, Marcos Valle and the other giants and give them their very own personal touch, which also draws on inspiration from the contemporary American jazz scene.

The music is tight and with his richness of color and desire, Bakuna will be able to inspire anyone listening. With this project, Bakuna wants to innovate and update the bossa nova, the samba and the other golden Brazilian genres, and one has to say that he does it extremely well. His scat-singing is quite enchanting and goes formidably in line with the rhythm group's close interplay. Expect a terrific concert where joy and desire will be ruling the show....

Det er altid dejligt at høre autentisk brasiliansk musik, og her kommer chancen! Guitaristen og sangeren Mario Bakuna og hans tætte trio tager fat i klassiske brasilianske kompositioner af Djavan, Joao Bosco, Gilberto Gil, Marcos Valle og de andre giganter og giver dem sit helt eget personlige touch, der tilmed trækker på inspiration fra den nutidige amerikanske jazzscene.

Musikken sidder lige i skabet og med sin farverigdom og lyst vil Bakuna kunne inspirere hvem som helst. Med dette projekt ønsker Bakuna at forny og opdatere bossanovaen, sambaen og de andre gyldne brasilianske genrer, og man må sige, at han gør det rimeligt godt. Hans scatsang er ganske fortryllende og går formidabelt i hak med rytmegruppens tætte sammenspil. Forvent en forrygende koncert, hvor glæden og lysten styrer showet.
