our resident artist in june is non other than the outstanding swedish master reed player Sture Ericson. Sture Ericson emerged on the swedish scene for experimental jazz and improvised music in the 80´s as a member of the internationally recognized unit Position Alpha. Playing in this group until –95 and releasing four LPs and two cd´s, touring extensively throughout Europé and South America in clubs and at festivals.
The next mayor project started in 2000 with the formation of the group The Electrics. Its mebers from the start and up to the peresent day are Axel Dörner (D) – trumpet; Sture Ericson – reeds; Ingebrigt Håker Flaten (N) – bass; and Raymond Strid (S) – drums. The Electrics has created a very unique musical brew drawing from its members´ experiences in jazz, free jazz, european improv and contemporary classical music. The expression contains a vast variety of sonic textures coming from many different extended technics on the instruments, as well as passages with high rhytmic intensity related to the jazz-and freejazz tradition
Sture Ericson is also playing in WESS w/ Joe Williamson, David Stackenäs Raymond Strid; Per-Son-Ell w/ Martin Klapper, Rex Casswell; PET w/ Simon Toldam; Anders Provis; Nutidsbo w/ Claus Højensgaard, Nils Davidsen, PO Jørgensen; trio with Peter Friis Nielsen, Claus Bøje, Simon Toldam´s STORK and Maria Faust Group.
During the years he has participated in numerous ad hoc constellation with improvisers from Europe, USA and Asia – fx Derek Bailey, Otomo Yoshihide, Phil Minton, Roger Turrner, Fred Lonberg Holm, Wilbert de Joode, John Edwards, Paul Lovens and Thomas Lehn. for his residency month he has assembled 4 very different at exiting bands.

kl 19 Marithé & Jonathan
Marithé Van der Aa - Vocals
Jonathan Nagel - Contrabass
The combination of only voice and bass leaves a lot of space, only range-wise it is almost impossible to get in each other's way, both instruments are relatively soft and nuanced. Yet it forms a complete union, soloist and acompanist or the interplay of two voices, the contrast of the warm, slow, big sound of the double bass with a touch of clumsiness and agression at times as a very masculine element, and the crystal clear, briliant, filigree sounding voice and a range from whispering to screaming is the embodiment of female energy.
kl 20 Kristin Olderstad Kvartett
Erik Kimestad Pedersen - Trumpet
Martin Myhre Olsen - Alto sax
Christian Meaas Svendsen - Bass
Simon Olderskog Albertsen - Drums
Kristin Olderstad Kvartett consists of four improvisers who search for the origin of life's strains through jazz and other kinds of dubious behavior. There will be many problems to solve.

Sture Ericson - saxofoner, clarinet
Henrik Olsson - guitar

Simon Krebs - guitar
Kasper Tom - drums
Tomasz Dabrowski is one of the most exciting trumpeters in Europe today, his band Free4arts plays melodic and multidimentional music, inspired by the Slavic heritage of Tomasz Dabrowski, and European third stream jazz and avant garde scene, with personal touch and scandinavian sence of space. This group features some of the most exciting players of young generation on the Scandinavian scene....and you can take that to the bank!
