Dallas celebrates Jazz Appreciation Month with a free concert featuring the Sammons Jazz Trio led by James Gilyard, the Booker T. Washington High School Jazz Combo I led by Bart Marantz, and the South Dallas Cultural Center Ensemble. Another event highlight is the presentation of this year's Jazz Legend Awards in four categories: Jazz Artist (Dave Zoller); Jazz Educator (Bart Marantz); Jazz Innovator (Jason Davis); and Jazz Supporter (Rosanne Uhlarik).
