Jazz for Peace featuring Singer / Pianist / Composer Rick DellaRatta, considered by many to be one of the finest Jazz Artists performing today, will perform a special Benefit Concert for The Moghamo Cultural and Development Association (MEDA-USA) at SOHO Food and Jazz located at 5290 Belt Line Road in Addison, TX .
MEDA-USA - A Moghamo cultural and development Association was created on the August 15, 1997 with a commitment to make use of the technical, fiscal and intellectual resources available to Moghamoans in the USA for the economic, cultural and political betterment of our predominantly impoverished people back at home in Moghamo, in the North West Province of Cameroon; to work incessantly to ensure peace, unity and progress amongst some of our feuding villages by being living examples and above all; to develop, maintain and uphold our most cherished cultural values for posterity. This benefit concert will support construction of a modern library to service 16 secondary and high schools within the Batibo subdivision. Having performed with everyone from Dizzy Gillespie to Paquito D' Rivera, Rick DellaRatta is now considered by many to be one of the finest Singer/Pianists performing today and one of only a handful of Jazz Artists who can make a successful musical presentation to a large audience without having to abandon the true art form of Jazz.
