This program will also feature the East High Jazz Combo, as well as Keith Oxman (director of the East High Jazz Combo). Thad Jones had a stellar career as a trumpeter and composer throughout the 60s and 70s, winning a grammy for his work with Mel Lewis. Thad’s harmonically-rich charts are favorites of the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra (MJO), a top-notch big band here in the Front Range.
