The 87-year-old Amram was friends with Cassady and other Beat luminaries in the ’50s, and can even be seen playing French horn in the 1959 film Pull My Daisy, which was based on a poem by Cassady, Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg. Amram also had a lengthy career composing classical music and scoring films like Splendor in the Grass and The Manchurian Candidate.
