We've often been told that our normal night at Dazzle, Thursdays, doesn't allow a lot of people to come out due to kids, schedules, etc. So when a weekend night opened up, we thought we would try another night as an experiment. Granted, it's kind of like a weeknight, since it is a Sunday night, but if you want a way to wrap up your weekend, we've always thought an evening with live jazz is just the ticket!
If you haven't seen one of our shows, it's a fairly straight-ahead alternative to the typical "club" scene: The group features Mr. Jazz on trombone, Mrs. Jazz on her outstanding vocals, accompanied by amazing trumpet, bass, piano, and drums. We are lucky enough to have one of the best pianists in the area joining us on stage for this special night--Tom Capek, the pianist for the band Dotsero, which has an international following and is the house band for Jazz @ Jack's. has played with everyone from Nelson Rangell, Chris Daniels, The Samples, to the National Repertory Orchestra and the Colorado Springs Symphony. He rocks, and can't wait to take the Dazzle stage. We may also have a special guest artist visiting, who is also on our CD and one of the finest pianists I've ever heard--will provide an update if the scheduling works out.
The music is a mix of solid jazz (these guys are all very serious and accomplished musicians), latin jazz, blues, gospel, jazz/rock, and a smattering of shameless nods to pop music. Both originals and familiar songs, including some new ones for this gig. It's music that won't make your brains pound inside your skull, and is really pleasing to hear. And it helps that Mrs. Jazz is always entertaining and incredibly sexy to watch, as well.

This amazing club has been named one of the top 100 jazz clubs in the world by Downbeat Magazine, and is quite vanilla. It is typically a listening room, and all the jazz greats on tour play here. We consider ourselves lucky to be invited, so please respect the venue. Enough said.
So, if you want to hear some pretty solid music in every jazz style, performed by serious musicians (well, most of the time), then we welcome you and think you will have a blast. If you can socialize quietly and respect the local vanillas, then come on out!!
The venue: Dazzle Restaurant and Lounge, between 9th & 10th, on Lincoln. Incredible food and cocktails (especially their martinis), and a comfortable, fun, listening room.
We play from 7:00-10:15pm--so come for dinner, and stay for the second set!
