During the mid 2000s Vernec recorded several albums as Blue44 – a compose–in-the-moment project, where band members would compose and play with no pre-planned roadmap. Emphasis was on the groove. So It Goes and The Vault were released in 2004 and were recorded live in nightclubs in San Diego. Under the tutelage of Keith Oxman while a student at East High School, Daniel played his first professional gig on trumpet at legendary Denver jazz club El Chapultepec and performed with Phil Urso and Curtis Fuller while still in high school, then went on to study at Lamont School of music in Denver and The New School in Manhattan.Larry Davis Vernec and Daniel Moran have been collaborating across Denver's music year scene for several years, adding their unique perspective to jazz standards.
