Her collaborations include works with celebrated artists like Fred Hersch and Bucky Pizzarelli, and she has appeared on the famed stages of the Boston Pops and Detroit Symphony Orchestra.Throughout her career, Alexis Cole has truly embraced the world as her stage.From 2007 to 2009, Cole served as the resident pianist and vocalist at the prestigious Tableaux Lounge in Tokyo's design district, Daikanyama. This experience not only allowed her to connect with a vibrant local audience but also deepened her appreciation for the unique fusion of jazz and Japanese influences, culminating in a rich tapestry of musical expression.From 2009 to 2015, she served as the vocalist for the West Point Band's Jazz Knights, an experience that inspired her 2021 album, Sky Blossom: Songs From My Tour of Duty, which features arrangements crafted specifically for her by the band’s music director, Scott Arcangel.And in 2022, Cole spent a month in Taiwan collaborating with the Taipei Jazz Orchestra. Cole’s latest album, Jazz Republic: Taiwan, The United States and the Freedom of Swing, features collaborations with musicians from diverse backgrounds and explores original arrangements that fuse a multitude of musical traditions.As an educator, Alexis led the vocal jazz program at SUNY Purchase, mentoring Grammy-winning talents like Samara Joy. Alexis founded JazzVoice.com, an online platform for jazz education, and co-founded the Virginia Beach Vocal Jazz Summit. Her newest venture, MusicAuditions.com, connects musicians with job opportunities. Currently based in the West Village in NYC, music continues to take Cole around the world and back home again.
