Brooklyn-based Kaleta & Super Yamba Band, led by Afrobeat veteran Leon Ligan-Majek (a.k.a. Kaleta), burst onto the scene with their debut album, Mèdaho, released by Ubiquity Records. Drawing from the psychedelic sounds of 1970s Benin, the album was featured on Bandcamp’s “Best Albums of Summer 2019” and showcased songs in the ABC/Hulu series High Fidelity starring Zoe Kravitz. The band has electrified audiences at the Apollo Theatre and even prompted Action Bronson to stop his own show on VICELAND TV just so he could hear more Yamba!
