"INTO THE OPEN" is the new CD by the Fred Hess Big Band (Alison Records 116). Featuring compositions and arrangements by Fred and a star filled line-up including trumpeters Ron Miles, Brad Goode, Al Hood. Along with Fred on tenor sax is Peter Sommer and John Gunther. Solos by Tom Ball and Nelson Hinds in the trombone section, along with the bass trombone of Gary Mayne. Marc Sabatella is featured in the rhythm section with Ken Filiano on bass and the drumming of Downbeat winner Matt Wilson. This will be a great show of Denver's finest musicians.
