For the past 15 years, the Community Jazz Center of Greater Des Moines (CJC) has honored local musicians with its Annual Hall of Fame and Special Recognition Awards. This year’s event will honor pianist/vocalist Janey Hooper, trumpeter Dave Rezek, the Turner Center Jazz Orchestra, guitarist Ben Chappell and saxophonist Taylor Igram. There will be performances from these winners as well as past Hall of Fame winners. The event begins at 5 pm with the CJC Youth Combo, a reception and silent auction at 6 p.m. and the program beginning at 7 p.m.
