Several years ago, cornetist Kirk Knuffke (one of the busiest cornetist on today’s scene) and pianist Jesse Stacken released a series of breathtaking duo recordings interpreting the music of Charles Mingus, Thelonius Monk, Eric Satie, Carla Bley, Duke Ellington and and others.
