WORLDS includes collaborations with Cheikh Lo (Senegal), Bollywood vocalist Parthiv Gohil (India), Gayelynne McKinney (Detroit/Straight Ahead), Walter White (Detroit/Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra/Dave Holland), Gary Schunk (Detroit) Jonita Gandhi (Toronto), Carolyn Koebel (Kalamazoo) Elden Kelly (Lansing) Mehdi Darvishi (Iran), Andre Frappier (Los Angeles) Chris Codish (Detroit) Evan Perri (Detroit) Inrdrajit Roy Chowdhury (New York), and Mehdi Darvishi (Iran). Recorded at Backseat Productions with Jim Roll in Ann Arbor, MI, and in various studios around the world, WORLDS began as a collaboration between Dave Sharp and tenor saxophonist Chris Kaercher (Four Tops, Temptations, Aretha Franklin), who share a fascination with jazz and music from India and Africa, as well as sounds from New Orleans and the Middle East.
