Rising Star Jazz Horn Competition Fundraiser For Mi Jazz Festival at Aretha's Jazz Cafe

Deadline is February 1st for the Michigan Jazz Festival Education Initiative is hosting a Rising Star Jazz Horn Competition as a Fundraiser for the annual Michigan Jazz Festival. Rising Star Jazz Horn players from ages 15 to 25 are eligible to apply. Application requirements are available at our website https://michiganjazzfestival.org. Five finalists will be chosen to perform in a live contest at Aretha's Jazz Café, 350 Madison St, Detroit MI, on Saturday, March 9 at 2pm. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards will be given by a panel of jazz artists. 1st place instrumentalist will receive the opportunity to perform a few songs with Vincent Chandler and the All-Star Big Band at the Michigan Jazz Festival, $300 cash prize and certificate. 2nd place will receive a $200 cash prize and certificate. 3rd place vocalist will receive a $100 cash prize and certificate.
