Nordic jazz has always been informed by its traditional music, creating that expansive soulful sound that has often been referred to as the Nordic blues. In ‘Norrland’, this duo of leading Swedish musicians Jonas Knuttson (saxophone) and guitarist Johan Norberg (guitar) the influence is explicit. The delicate beauty and joyous optimism of ‘Norrland’ is an ongoing musical love letter to Sweden’s northernmost region.
