Piano Bench was created by three musicians in Boston, Massachusetts in 2012. The concept of the band was to take 20th century classical piano music and apply it to a guitar trio setup bringing in influences from improvisational and groove music. With their reserved and tasteful playing the trio bring these great compositions into a modern context. In 2012 they recorded their debut release. The album features music by Bartok, Scriabin, Hindemith, Satie, Ravel and Stanchinsky. Support for the night will be Dublin's very own Leafzang, combining acoustic jazz with Irish music.
