Sue’s musings explore the flexible spaces between jazz and classical music, with a refreshing, beautifully formed musical view.

Sue’s delicate, ‘angel voice’, accompanied by Dan Bodwell on double bass, explores the essence of the crossings of life’s journey with an honesty of heart in this most unusual combination of instrumentation. No 12, once the home of Captain George Byran has a long and varied past. Captain Byran, once considered as the ‘richest commoner in Ireland’, was a particular friend and patron of Thomas Moore and it was for Byran’s family that Moore composed his acclaimed The Last Rose of Summer. This No 12 connection makes this drawing room a most appropriate location for our reflection on Thomas Moore and life in nineteenth century Henrietta Street. We recall the lives of those living in grandeur and luxury, and those eking a bare existence in the tenement housing which Henrietta Street was to become.

This promises to be an evening of thoughtful song and reflection.
