About

Of the best-known composers of the Great American Song Book (Berlin, Kern, Gershwin, Porter, Rodgers, Arlen), the one who brought the most personal jazz experience to his work was Harold Arlen. Early on, he was a professional jazz pianist and went on to write songs such as "Stormy Weather" for Harlem's Cotton Club revues. Of course, the man who would later compose "Over the Rainbow" wasn't limited to the jazz world, and in the end belongs to all America and the whole world. Carl Woideck and friends will explore a wide range of Harold Arlen songs as seen from the group's jazz perspective. Joining Carl for a special evening will be guest vocalist Halie Loren....
