Western Oregon University presents the WOU Concert Choir and Chamber Singers in their show: Brahms Meets Brubeck. The concert takes place in Rice Auditorium, Western Oregon university, at 4:00pm, Sunday June 8th, 2014. Ticket prices are $3 for general admission, $1 for students and senior citizens, and FREE for WOU students.

Some of Western Oregon University’s finest singers have come together to prepare a wonderful concert, full of enjoyable music. From the classical music of Johannes Brahms that the Chamber Singers have prepared, to the jazzy music of David Brubeck that the Concert Choir has prepared, this show brings the wonderful music composed by two pianists from two very different genres together to create one amazing concert. ...

From the classical music of Johannes Brahms that the Chamber Singers have prepared, to the jazzy music of David Brubeck that the Concert Choir has prepared, this show brings the wonderful music composed by two pianists from two very different genres together to create one amazing concert.

Chamber Singers have prepared “Liebeslieder Waltzes” Opus 52 from Brahm’s compositions. This collection is of love song waltzes for four-part choir, accompanied by a four hand piano part played by WOU Faculty Dr. Diane Baxter and Jackie Morelli. The Concert Choir has prepared “Earth is Our Mother”, about man’s relationship to nature from the words of Suquamish Indian Chief, from the music of Brubeck.
