Aimée was raised primarily in France by her French father and Dominican mother. As a curious child in Samois-sur-Seine, she would sneak out of her bedroom window to wander into the nearby gypsy encampments filled with those attending the annual Django Reinhardt Festival. She quickly fell in love with gypsy music and way of life; years later she would sing on street corners with friends, busking across the Continent. While in the midst of one such odyssey, she found herself at the Montreux Jazz Festival, where she won first prize. Don’t miss our great set-menu, casual pre-performance dinners for $19.75 ($14.75, kids 9 and younger) in The Shedd’s Great Hall 1 1/2 hours before most evening performances at The Shedd (usually 6 pm). Prepared by The Shedd's resident chef, Shelby Hoopes-Tice, each meal includes entrée (vegetarian option), salad, side dish, dessert, coffee and tea. Wine, beer, and soft drinks are available for purchase. Reservations with The Shedd Ticket Office at least 1 day in advance are required.
