Maggie Laird performs with Island Jazz, featuring originals from her new CD, One More Manhattan, recorded in Nashville.
For the opening set, the band performs the music of Kurt Weill, from familiar favorites (September Song, Mack the Knife) to the lesser known. Featuring songs in German and French, Laird brings her sultry style and theatrical flair to "songs of orphans, prostitutes, murderers, and lovers."
