Koivistoinen continues to be a major presence in the Finnish jazz field today with his unmatched creativity and versatility. He presented his new quartet, composed of three established and accalimed younger-generation jazzers, in 2012 and the group released an album, Hati Hati, earlier this year.

Eero Koivistoinen on yksi kaikkien aikojen tunnetuimmista suomalaisista jazzmuusikoista ja saksofonisteista. Ensimmäisenä muusikkona uuden Yrjö-palkinnon vuonna 1967 saanut Koivistoinen tunnetaan monipuolisuudestaan ja luovuudestaan, ja hänen taitonsa ulottuvat ytimekkäistä jazzsooloista laajoihin orkesterisävellyksiin.
