Blending jazz, Middle Eastern music, and global folk traditions, Ilkka Arola Sound Tagine will perform across Finland on the Jazz Federation Tour this April. The band will present their newly released fourth album, Adventures in the Now, bringing energetic and vividly colorful music to audiences. The tour kicks off on April 8th in Lahti, followed by stops in Jyväskylä, Savonlinna, Raahe, and Espoo.
Ilkka Arola Sound Tagine released Adventures in the Now album (Flame Jazz Records) in March 2025. In his latest work, bandleader and trumpeter Ilkka Arola draws inspiration from psychedelic ethno-jazz fusion of the 1970s as well as Turkish disco from the same era. Jazzia, Lähi-Idän musiikkia sekä maailman folk-traditioita yhdistelevä Ilkka Arola Sound Tagine esiintyy Jazzliiton kiertueella huhtikuussa ympäri Suomea. Yhtye esittää vastajulkaistun neljännen albuminsa – Adventures in the Now – energistä ja värikylläistä musiikkia. Kiertueen avauskonsertti kuullaan 8.4. Lahdessa, jonka jälkeen yhtye vierailee Jyväskylässä, Savonlinnassa, Raahessa ja Espoossa.
Ilkka Arola Sound Tagine julkaisi Adventures in the Now -albuminsa (Flame Jazz Records) maaliskuussa 2025. Uudessa musiikissaan yhtyeenjohtaja, trumpetisti Ilkka Arola, on ottanut vaikutteita muun muassa 70-luvun psykedeelisestä etnojazz-fuusiosta sekä saman aikakauden turkkilaisesta discosta. Arola on unelmoinut pitkään funk-vetoisen levyn teosta Sound Tagine -kokoonpanolla, ja vihdoin sen aika koitti. Uusi materiaali pursuaa energiaa, hikeä nostattavia rytmejä ja värikylläisiä soundimaailmoja.
