As this year's OutoJazz festival draws to a close, it's time to invite Captain Mathias Sandberg and his trio to the helm.
For the past 15 years, Sandberg has toured the Nordic jazz scene with top artists, including Georg Riedel, Pierre Swärd, Peter Asplund, Nick Mancini, Jukka Eskola, Teppo Mäkynen, Manuel Dunkel and many others. Having toured both in Europe and the United States, Sandberg plays around a hundred concerts a year, making him probably one of the most active giggers on the Finnish jazz scene.
In this year's closing concert of OutoJazz, he invites festival guests on an intense but peaceful journey through the sound waves that flow along with him. While many artists seek dynamics above all from the averages upwards, this trio has a special gift for capturing listeners to follow the very quiet and small-gesture, but all the more meaningful and nuanced harmony....

Kun tämänvuotinen OutoJazz -festivaali lähenee loppuaan, on aika kutsua ruoriin Kapteeni Mathias Sandberg trioineen.
Viimeiset 15 vuotta Sandberg on kiertänyt pohjoismaisen jazzskenen huippuartistien kanssa, mukaan lukien Georg Riedel, Pierre Swärd, Peter Asplund, Nick Mancini, Jukka Eskola, Teppo Mäkynen, Manuel Dunkel ja monet muut. Sekä Euroopassa että Yhdysvalloissa kiertänyt Sandberg soittaa vuosittain noin sata konserttia, ja onkin näin varmaan yksi ahkerimpia keikkailijoita Suomen jazz-laineilla.
OutoJazzin tämänvuotisessa päätöskonsertissa hän kutsuu festivaalivieraat intensiiviselle, mutta levolliselle matkalle halki myötäisinä soljuvien ääniaaltojen. Siinä missä moni artisti hakee dynamiikkaa ennen kaikkea keskiarvoista ylöspäin, on tämän trion erityislahja vangita kuuntelijat seuraamaan hetkittäin hyvinkin hiljaista ja pienieleistä, mutta sitäkin merkityksellisempää ja nyanssintäyteistä yhteensoittoa.
