At the helm of the kitchen is Executive Chef/Partner Nadir Sherwani, Mereday's long-time colleague, fellow North Carolinian and first mentor.

The inspiration for Alto is Zanzibar Blue, a now-closed Philadelphia landmark with upscale dining and live music. The location in Bayfront was the first Mereday had considered before moving to Naples with Mereday's Fine Dining. When it became available again, he jumped at the chance.
