Troy Anderson and the Wonderful World Band Satchmo lives
The Friends of the Key Largo Cultural Center (FKLCC) presents Troy Anderson along with Doug Bickel, Keyboard and Musical Director, Gary Thomas, Bass and Danny Burger, Drums on March 30th.
Troy Anderson started out playing the Trumpet at the early age of 10, growing up in a Bahamian family filled with music. He started playing in church brass bands, and later with the Bayonne Bridgemen Drum & Bugle Corps.
After his years with the Bridgemen, Troy enlisted in the US Army as a Paratrooper which brought him to Germany. He performed there with German Dixieland bands where his performance in the style of Louis Armstrong became quite popular. Later, after a serious accident, doctors told Anderson that he would never be able to play the trumpet again, but Troy began to rebuild his chops by learning to play Armstrong’s note for note solo on Azalea....
