Proceeds from this event will offset student travel expenses for the 2013 Essentially Ellington Competition.
Duke Ellington's music is at the very heart of America's 20th-century musical heritage and the core of the rich canon of jazz music. Jazz at Lincoln Center, hosts the annual Essentially Ellington Competition.
The Dillard Jazz Ensemble earned First Place at Essentially Ellington in 2011 and 2012 and we look forward to defending our title in New York City in May....
