Bassist Don Mopsick is a native of New Jersey. He's best known for his 18 years in San Antonio as a member of the rhythm section of the Jim Cullum Jazz Band at the Landing Jazz Club, the host band of the Public Radio International weekly program "Riverwalk Jazz." After his return to Southwest Florida (Cape Coral) in 2010, Don resumed his work with some of the leading lights of jazz in the region such as Ira Sullivan, Dick Hyman, The Hot Club of SRQ, Lew DelGatto, Dan Miller, Frank Portolese, and others from "up north" who come down to SW Florida in the winter to play concerts such as Aaron Weinstein, Tedd Firth, Harry Allen, Stephanie Nakasian, and others. Since 2021 Don has been featured at the annual Suncoast Jazz Festival in Clearwater Beach with headliners Wycliff Gordon, Houston Person, Jason Marsalis, Johnny Varro, Rossano Sportiello and others.
