Mary Stallings at Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall

GW Development International, Inc., will present jazz legend Mary Stallings in concert on April 29, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Susan G. Komen Southwest Florida, an affiliate of the nation’s largest breast cancer organization, as well as C.A.R.E.S., the Community Awareness in Recognizing and Educating on Suicide, a suicide prevention nonprofit.

Mary Stallings is best known for her 1961 recording "Cal Tjader Plays, Mary Stallings Sings" from Fantasy Records, which brought international acclaim through engagements in Tokyo, Manila, and Bangkok, and shared billing with Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, and the Count Basie Orchestra....

On December 23, 2011, Stallings, a native of San Francisco, made history as the first jazz artist to perform at the Prague National Theater, which was constructed in 1881.

The opening act of the benefit will be Joey Diamond—singer, songwriter, and percussionist—who has performed and released two albums with the doo-wop group The Styles.
