Berlin, Nationalsocialism: ..about populism and civil disobedience – in 1933 „Neger-Juden-Jazz“ was kind of blacklisted in Germany! The music was rhetorically defamed under all rules of racism. But obviously jazz was invincible in Berlin! Never entirely forbidden and partly yet officially promoted, there was an ultimately threatening ambiguity. What was the regime`s strategy?
At the brink of the Berlin entertainment areas jazz life was just going on, in the New West the Swings and their dance dominated the scene. Who have they been, and what did the whole thing mean?And then Swing even got lost in Collaboration !-?
