Joining Kevin will be special guest, drummer Keith Hall. Keith Hall has established himself as a passionate educator and joyful performer. He is the director of the Keith Hall Summer Drum Intensive and is the Jazz Drum Set Professor at Western Michigan University. He is the author of Jazz Drums Now! Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, and is the radio host for Jazz Currents on WMUK. In addition, he has toured the globe with singer Curtis Stigers (12 Years) and his New York trio TRI-FI (15 years).
Keith spent 8 years in New York City where he played drums on Broadway’s ‘Lion King’ and has performed with Betty Carter, Wycliffe Gordon, Sir Roland Hanna, Joe Lovano, Wynton Marsalis, Michael Phillip Mossman, Janis Siegel, Luciana Souza, Terrell Stafford, Joe Wilder and Steve Wilson.
Also, performing will be Paul Lesinski. Paul is a freelance keyboardist from Grand Rapids, MI. Proficient at many music styles from classical to contemporary, he performs regularly with several groups in West Michigan, including the Hip Pocket, the Grand Rapids Symphony, Big Band Nouveau, and vocalist Kathy Lamar. As a jazz pianist, Paul has performed and recorded with many world-renowned jazz artists including Dee Dee Bridgewater, Bobby Vinton, Wessel Anderson, Harry Connick, the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, Les DeMerle, Wycliffe Gordon, Josh Quinlan, Mel Dalton, Vince DiMartino, Sunny Wilkinson, Randy Johnston, Betty Joplin, and many others. Paul also records and produces music at his home studio in Grand Rapids MI .
Kevin will be joined on Saxophones by Michael Doyle. Michael Doyle originally from NYC, studied at the New School University Jazz Studies program with Branford Marsalis, Dr. Donald Byrd, and David Liebman (to name a few). Michael has performed with actress Nell Carter, Frank Foster and actor Jim Nabors. He has also performed with Jaki Byard, Cecil Bridgewater, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Milt Hilton. He had also performed with Blue Note recording artist Bill Dowdy and with the Grammy nominated Grand Rapids Symphony. Michael is also the leader of award winning Evidence Jazz Group and is co - leader of Big Band Nouveau. Michael received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Michigan University and received a Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies from Michigan State University.
On Bass will be Charles Johnson. A native of Muskegon, MI, Charles has played with a plethora of artists in all types of Genres. He is consumate professional who is solid as a rock.
