The GJC JazzEd Ensemble will give an educational performance/demonstration walking listeners through the different periods and historical styles of jazz at the Greenville County Museum of Art. Starting with New Orleans style dixieland marches and the dance rhythms of the 1920's, JazzEd will play and talk a little about the swing music of the 30's, the Be-bop of the 40's, the cool school and hard-bop of the 50's, the modern jazz of the 60's, and into the many different fusions of contemporary jazz that are being forged today.
