Arch St. Tavern is the home of the 'Lite 100.5 Smooth Jazz Saturday Night Concert Series' presented by Heineken and produced by JumpStartJazz Productions. JumpStartJazz is the production / promotion company headed by former Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz producer and current WRTC jazz host Kevin McCabe (Trinity College, Hartford,CT www.wrtcfm.com on the web). After a four year stint at the GHFJ, Kevin formed the company in order to produce and promote contemporary jazz in the CT area. The company has presented its' initial shows at the Arch St. Tavern since August, '03. The venue is an intimate 200 capacity club and has seen sold-out crowds at every show. In 2004, JumpStartJazz will present 12-15 shows at Arch St. as well as 3-4 larger shows at an additional venue to be announced shortly. Central CT will be 'on the map' for contemporary jazz if the folks at JumpStartJazz have anything to say about it. Arch St. Tavern is located on the edge of the multi-million dollar downtown redevelopment. Arch St. will be in the center of the new entertainemt district when the redeovelopment is completed in August 2005.
