His public cosigns include an eclectic mix of music heavyweights (Charlie Puth, Chromeo, D Smoke, and Snarky Puppy), and his fanbase is a mix of the new jazz scene (Louis Cole, Keifer), the soulful beats scene (FKJ, Masego), and the post-dubstep electronic scene (Griz, Odesza).
Dupuis has a lot to reflect upon the success that got him here. By the end of 2020, Anomalie sold out two world tours (North America, European, and Asia) with his intricate 4-piece live band, grew his online following in the millions across social media, and performed at the likes of Red Rocks, Montreal Jazz Festival, and Electric Forest Festival. Most impressively, he’s achieved all of this as an independent artist.

Anomalie -taiteilijanimen takaa löytyy kanadalainen kosketinsoittaja-tuottaja Nicolas Dupuis, joka on muutaman vuoden aikana kerännyt massiivisen fanikunnan viraaleilla musiikkivideoillaan. Suosion laajuudesta kertoo jotakin muun muassa kaksi loppuunmyytyä maailmankiertuetta, yli 12 miljoonaa toistoa YouTubessa ja yli 60 miljoonaa striimausta Spotifyssa.
Anomalien musiikissa yhdistyvät ennennäkemättömällä tavalla elektroninen musiikki, jazz, klassiset harmoniat, hiphop, r&b, virtuoottinen kosketinsoittimien hallinta sekä raaka funk-groove. Studiossa hän tuottaa kaiken itse, mutta livekeikoilla neljän muusikon ryhmä hitsaa saumattomasti yhteen elektroniikan, monipolviset harmoniat ja rytmit.
Nicolas Dupuis on kasvanut musikaalisessa perheessä Montrealissa, Kanadassa. Keikkalavoilla huippuunsa hiotun teknisen taituruuden pohjalla ovat jo varhaisessa iässä alkaneet klassisen pianonsoiton opinnot. Teini-iässä Dupuis kiinnostui elektronisesta musiikista ja siitä musiikillinen tutkimusmatka johdatti hänet jazzin, r&b:n ja hiphopin pariin. Hän kertoo itse, että tyylien yhdistäminen ei ole varsinaisesti ollut tietoinen valinta. Pikemminkin kaikki artistina ja musiikin opiskelijana koettu on vienyt luonnostaan siihen suuntaan. Vuosien kuluessa, kaiken musiikista opitun pohjalta on syntynyt liveartisti Anomalie.
Anomalien ainutlaatuinen, useita tyylilajeja innovatiivisella tavalla yhdistävä musiikki on herättänyt laajaa huomiota myös muiden musiikintekijöiden keskuudessa. Ihailunsa on julkisesti ilmaissut suuri joukko eri genrejen maailmantähtiä kuten Charlie Puth, Chromeo, D Smoke, Snarky Puppy, FKJ, Masego, Thundercat ja Odesza.
